First 10 Books I Ever Reviewed

So, the topic for today’s Top Ten Tuesday is “throwback freebie,” so I decided I’d compile a list of the first ten books I ever reviews! This is partly because I can’t even tell you what books I loved, they kinda blend together in my head, but also because I wanna showcase the talent that little 9 year old me had! Now, if you choose to read the reviews, please keep in mind they were written by a 9 year old. Also try not to cringe too hard, you might hurt yourself!

1. Midwife’s Apprentice (Feb. 13, 2012)

If you do choose to read this review, I will warn you that it is a total of like 2 paragraphs. And also features no pictures, but you can only ask so much of a nine year old I guess.

2. Gathering Blue (Feb. 13, 2012)

This review is slightly better, but only slightly. But hey, how many people do you know who were blogging at the age of nine? If you say anyone, either you’re lying or must know very nerdy people (I’m a nerd, so I can call others nerds too, just a fact of life)

3. Castle in the Attic (Feb. 28, 2012)

HEY! I figured out how pictures work! I’m proud of young me, not much improvement in the writing, but it’s ok. Just taking some baby steps. I’ll eventually be a somewhat decent writer.

4. Bridge to Terabithia (Mar. 3, 2012)

So, based on the writing, I’m gonna assume that I was a contributor to the idea behind this post, but had no part in writing it. This is because it’s pretty close to my skill today, after 5 years of blogging and 9 years of going to school 5 days a week, 9 months a year (wow lots of numbers!) I’m at a pretty high level.

5. The Hunger Games (Mar. 15, 2012)

This is written mostly by my mom, who was my blog partner until 2014, but there is a paragraph at the end written just by me. Also, I feel that reading The Hunger Games so early in life might be why I’m so messed up, but that’s just me.

6. Peter and the Starcatchers (May 4, 2012)

Hey, I’m proud of myself! I learned how to write a halfway decent blog post! It even has a list, what an accomplishment! I’m proud of child me. Also, the month before this was the first time of many breaks I’ve taken in the past five and a half years.

7. Wolf Tower (May 8, 2012)

Another good review, I really made progress that month! I was also in the process of learning fifth grade in three months at that point in time, so it’s a miracle I blogged at all! Especially good blogging!

8. Peter Pan (May 19, 2012)

So I don’t really have anything to say about this, other than the fact that this is three good reviews in a row. I might be permanently improved, put your hands together for young Kenzi!

9. Jacob Have I Loved (May 29, 2012)

Once again, nothing to say except that it’s a better review! This one even has a quote in it! I was slowly learning to format blog posts, although I’m nowhere near my skill today.

10. Cinderella Cleaners: The Change of a Dress (Jun. 7, 2012)

Last but not least, my tenth review I ever wrote. Pretty much the same format as the last four I linked back to, it’s fairly well written. But, it’s still not perfect, but it’s about as close as a nine year old can go.

I made a lot of progress in those two months that I was blogging, and looking back on this also shows how much I’ve improved! I’m proud of the progress I’ve made since then, and I encourage everyone to tell me about the progress they’ve made in the comments, whether that be the last month, or the last year.
